The above saying will stand true for many generations to come. Having been moved by the dismal situation of rural poor, SIRIA was initially formed to extend a helping hand, in every possible manner, to every needy and deserving individual. Accordingly, over the years, many activities have been undertaken successfully until SIRIA finally decided to shift focus to orphans children & destitute -Street children.
SIRIA focuses on destitute-street children and orphans who are growing in number day after day. SIRIA is concentrating on orphans with the dream to transform their misfortune into fortunes through humble and dedicated efforts. This led to the launch of SIRIA Orphans Residential School in 2006.
The essence of SIRIA Orphans Residential School comes from the true love, affection and care for the tender young souls who have lost their parents. Children are a gift of God and it is their right to have a good and decent childhood. Every day we get to hear about how street children are being exploited by few people for their greedy gains. Our dream for all the children at SIRIA is to make them contributing, responsible citizens of India and the world. We are striving to make this dream possible and need your help too in doing so.
Today, there are more than 11 million orphaned and abandoned children across India. Parents are abandoning their own children because they cannot afford to raise them. It is not uncommon to find new born babies near dust bins, having been left unable to fend for themselves. Out of desperation they become pick picketers, thieves, and they contribute to antisocial elements. Teenage orphan girls are often sold to brothels by those who sheltered them. These children who are ill-treated and cheated by society, might, if not cared for, build hatred and seek vengeance.
It is our sincere and positive effort to save these children and society. SIRIA considers every child a SIRI, an unknown wealth. We endeavour to transform them into well prepared and useful citizens who will occupy high positions through the education and care given in our residential school. |
